Physical - Gross and fine motor, fitness resilience of typical motor development and progression.
Sensory - Exposure, perception, processing, integration, preference, tolerance, desensitisation and understanding.
Cognitive - Processing, memory, decision making, choice, planning, time management, evaluation.
Communication - Verbal and non-verbal, key word sign, visual aid supports.
Social Skills - Personal, inter-personal, community integration, belonging.
Mental Health - Emotional regulation, identification of feelings and thoughts, communicating needs and wants, self-concept and esteem.
Quality of Life - Value clarification, interests, aspirations, addressing barriers to progress.
Parenting/Carer Support - Alternate skill building approaches and education
Animal and Nature Based Occupational Therapy utilises the natural environment and farm related tasks to build skills needed for attaining goals identified by the participant.
Our Occupational Therapist’s scope of practice is farm related so while functional, it is not clinical and does not include formal assessments, Functional Capacity Assessment, school or home visits, stake holder meetings or assistive technology applications.
